RYA Start Yachting Course...

...’this course provides a short introduction to sail cruising for beginners/novices. By the end of the course students will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and be aware of safety on board’.

• Holders of a Start Yachting Certificate can obtain a Competent Crew certificate by completing a further 3 days or 2 weekends of a Competent Crew course’...
• If you want to find out whether you might fall in love sail cruising, then this is the course for you! You do not need any previous sailing experience.
• It provides an opportunity to be involved in handling the boat under sail and power and can be completed over a weekend (2 days).
• The course can then count towards your RYA Competent Crew course if you decide that sailing is for you!
• On successful completion of your RYA Start Yachting Course you will also receive an official RYA certificate.
• The cost of your RYA Start Yachting Course includes accommodation on board our yacht ‘Crews Control’, breakfasts, lunches and light refreshments (non alcoholic). Evening meals are usually taken ashore in Cowes or Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight where there are some great places to eat. Your Skipper/Instructor will be familiar with all the best places!
• Wet weather clothing and can be arranged if you do not have your own...free of charge!

• Mooring Fees are included (unless otherwise stated).
